Building a Vision
2008 was the year when the Parisian projects gained momentum. The vision for the Ricardo Fernandes gallery in Europe became clearer, more articulated, and ready to enter the public sphere.
Ricardo Fernandes built the framework that would support the opening of his first Parisian physical space in 2009 at the Marais area.
This was a year of intense activity:
- defining the inaugural program,
- selecting the first represented artists,
- developing the initial exhibitions,
- shaping the visual and institutional identity,
- strengthening professional networks in France and abroad.
Travel, discussions, negotiations, and strategic decisions shaped the rhythm of the year. The gallery was conceived not only as a place to show art, but as a space for ideas, cultural exchange, and critical engagement—values that remain central to its identity today.
During this period, the curatorial vision crystallized: a gallery dedicated to artists whose work confronts the complexities of contemporary existence, its fragilities, its transformations, its shifting subjectivities.
