Ikse Maître with His Eyes Wide Open
Interactions between us and our environment come first. We arrive later. Ikse Maître uses the anomalies of reality to challenge the relationship we have with the world around us. Grasping the external environment and processing acquired data, Ikse Maître mainly works on site while adding video projections and sounds controlled by computers to create a living art.
The artist makes use of technology, interactivity, human-machine interaction, computer graphics, science and emotions, mixing it to what he extracts from research laboratories, often making the matrix of his realizations.
His collective and personal works have been installed or exhibited in France and abroad in places and to audiences voluntarily diverse: Le Pass, Mons, Belgium – Musée des arts et métiers, Paris, France – Église Saint Merry, Paris, France – Sciences Essonne, Marolles – SXSW, Austin, Texas, USA – PROTO204, Orsay, France – JDEV, École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France – Futur en Seine, La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris, France – CURIOSITas, Sciences ACO, Orsay, France – Fête de la Science, Université Paris-Saclay, France – Le Carreau du Temple, Paris, France – Théâtre Dunois, Paris, France – Institut Culturel, Google, Paris, France – Église de la Madeleine, Paris, France – Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, Paris, France – Science&You, Nancy, France – El Hormiguero 3.0, Antena 3, Madrid, Spain, among others.
Since 2008, Ikse Maître gathers scientists, developers, technicians, musicians, and actors within the collective des Vues de l’esprit.
In 2014, Ikse Maître founded Le sas, a science-art-society group at the Orsay Scientific Centre, France.
Since August 2015, he is in creation residency at the Space Astronomy Institute, University Paris-Saclay in France and, since January 2016, he is in research residency at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, in Paris.

Coming from an artistic family, Vincent Breed practiced sculpture from an early age and discovered glass during his studies at the Decorative Arts of Strasbourg. A trade-guild near well known glass Masters leads him to start his own workshop in Lyon, in 1999.
To satisfy his taste for the thought and mastered forms, he focuses on glass blowing, the noblest glass medium. Perfectionist, he approaches glass as contemporary visual artist by playing with colors, reflection, even image, which he incorporates by silvering.
Beyond his own creations, he has collaborated with architects, designers and artists like Yves Saint-Laurent, Jean Nouvel, Matali Crasset, Hilton McConnico, Paul Bocuse, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance and Toni Chi, among others.
His works were already exhibited at the Glass Museum of Murano in Italy, at the Murano Hotel of Paris, at the Design Center of NYC in the US and also in Monte Carlo, Beirut, Moscow, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
