Item Description

The exhibition Éros & Gaïa held at Ricardo Fernandes Gallery in 2011 was a historical event featuring works from the artist from 1982 to 1995.

A native of Recife (northeastern Brazil), Sérgio Bello lives in Paris since 1978.

He began his career in his native Brazil where he met a great success which led him to continue his studies and works in Paris after a first trip as student.

Today his works reflect his social and environmental concerns and invite us to discover a tropical nature in turmoil, where fauna and flora challenge us on the urgency of environmental consciousness.” (extract from the text by Ricardo Fernandes)
